South Africa’s Department of Energy hosted SAIREC 2015 in conjunction with the South African National Energy Development Institute (SANEDI), the Renewable Energy Policy Network for the 21st Century (REN21) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). SAIREC 2015 is the sixth in a series of global conferences.
SAIREC 2015 provides a global platform for government ministers, high-level decision makers, experts, specialists and thought leaders, as well as private sector players and civil society, to discuss and exchange their vision, experiences and solutions to accelerate the global scale-up of renewable energy. Over the past decade these conferences have provided the motivation for several momentous initiatives.
Comprising a conference, an exhibition and a series of side events, SAIREC, is a global platform for the advancement of renewable energy. We invited Ministers internationally to attend the conference alongside renewable energy leaders in government, the private sector and civil society. Under the theme, RE-energising Africa, SAIREC demonstrated why Africa is the business destination for the renewables energy sector given its current growth trajectory and need for investment in clean energy to underpin sustainable economic growth.
The presentations and publications are now available on the SAIREC website here.
