In the context of the Paris Conference on Climate (COP21), M. Laurent Fabius, incoming President of the COP21, and Christiana Figueres, with the support of Manuel Pulgar-Vidal, the United Nations’ Secretary General and the future President of the COP22, will hold this high-level event on December 5th in Le Bourget.
This event aims at:
1/ Enhancing the most remarkable commitments and initiatives of non-state actors, in particular in the context of the Lima-Paris Action Agenda;
2/ Demonstrating what could be a resilient and low-carbon world in 2050. We will shed the light on people that engage in climate action, from developed countries and from developing countries, and that illustrate that climate action, development and inclusion are complementary.
Transport at Action Day
During Session 2, titled: ‘ENGAGE // Inhabiting tomorrow’s territories‘ at 13:00 to 14:30, Jean-Dominique Senard, CEO of Michelin, together with Eduardo Paes, Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, will speak on behalf of the Transport Community.
Further, speaking for cities; Tau Parks, Mayor of Johannesburg, will be a panelist in the session ‘Territories committing‘.
